NT2 students discover leisure activities in Vilvoorde during the NT2 activity market
Learning Dutch does not stop when the lesson is over. On the contrary: anyone who really wants to practice the language does so outside the classroom as well. That is why participation in local activities, associations, and social gatherings is so important for non-native speaking students. During the recent NT2 activity market in Vilvoorde, Dutch students were introduced to numerous organizations, associations, and initiatives from the region. They discovered where they can play sports, do volunteer work, experience culture, meet new people, and above all: further practice their Dutch in a real-life context. The activity market brought together various local partners who all share the same goal: connecting people and creating opportunities to actively participate in social life. For many students, such an introduction is a first step towards more self-confidence, new contacts, and greater involvement in their environment. At CVO Semper, we strongly believe in that connection between learning a language and participating in society. That is why we encourage our students not only to learn Dutch in class, but also to use it during activities in their neighborhood. The NT2 activity market shows how language, meeting, and participation go hand in hand. It is an inspiring example of how local organizations create opportunities together for everyone finding their way in our region. ? Curious about the atmosphere and the participants' experiences?
