Edition 2026 promises to be another special year. The Semper team is proud to be at the starting line of the 1000 km and the 100 km run this year, with one cycling team and two running teams. Colleagues are once again joining forces for Kom op tegen Kanker (Stand Up to Cancer) — a commitment that is now deeply ingrained in our DNA.

To be able to take part, we need to raise €11,000 (€5,500 for one cycling team and €5,500 for two running teams). This money will go entirely to the initiatives supported by Kom op tegen Kanker. We therefore kindly ask you to support one of the CVO Semper sports teams by making a donation via the link below.

From March 9th to 21st, we're also organising our waffles and pencils sale. A tasty (or handy) way to give us an extra boost!

The 100km Run is a unique running event in which teams of four run 100 km together in support of the fight against cancer. One runner starts, and after every 10 km, an additional runner joins the team. The first runner covers 40 km, the second 30 km, the third 20 km, and the fourth 10 km. The challenge and team spirit are at the heart of the event. Together, we give vital cancer research a much-needed boost.

On March 15, Petra, Ciska, Jill, Karen, Lies, Els, Astrid, Olivier, Kyan, Jean-François, Inge, Bruno, and Elien will be taking part in the 100 km run for CVO Semper at De Schorre in Boom.

The1000 kilometers is a unique cycling event in which teams of one to eight cyclists cycle together for four days against cancer. Traditionally, we do this during the Ascension weekend (May 14-17), crossing Flanders starting from Mechelen. The challenge and team spirit are central. Together, we give vital cancer research a much-needed boost.

We are still looking for a few colleagues who want to join the cycling team.
