Cieltje Van Achter visited CVO Semper and wrote the following about it on LinkedIn
Today I visited the Semper Adult Education Centre in Etterbeek, located on the main campus of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. The centre offers a differentiated and flexible NT2 programme (Dutch as a second language) tailored to the diverse learning profiles of adult learners. In addition to its broad NT2 provision, CVO Semper also focuses on sector-specific language pathways in which language competence is directly linked to academic success, service provision and economic activity. Language competence goes beyond understanding or speaking words: it is the key to employment, education, self-reliance and full participation in our society. Those who master the language increase their opportunities.
In an international city such as Brussels, a strong command of Dutch is crucial. As Flemish Minister for Brussels, I therefore continue to believe in language competence as a lever for integration, social mobility and living together harmoniously.
Many thanks to the learners and the team for the warm welcome and the inspiring discussion.
