Learning Greek for beginners
If you have no prior knowledge of Greek, the Greek 1 course is the perfect start for you. You will learn the fundamentals of the language, including vocabulary, pronunciation, and basic conversations.

In the following modules you will practice more complex conversations, refine your grammar and learn to speak Greek fluently.
First check your level via the Greek placement test and then register for the correct course. During the first lessons, the teacher will check whether you are at the right level.

The different levels of Greek at CVO Semper
At CVO Semper you will learn Greek according to the European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Our courses are divided into two levels with a total of seven levels:
Level 1 (A1 - A2) – Basic knowledge of Greek
- Greek 1: You will learn the Greek alphabet, basic sentences and simple conversations.
- Greek 2: You will expand your vocabulary and practise short dialogues about everyday situations.
- Greek 3: You will strengthen your knowledge of basic grammar and learn to communicate more fluently.
Level 2 (B1) – Independent user
- Greek 4: You learn to form longer sentences and have conversations about everyday and personal topics.
- Greek 5: You deepen your grammatical knowledge and can speak more fluently about broader themes.
- Greek 6: You gain more insight into complex structures and can understand and analyze longer texts
- Greek 7: You can have fluent conversations about various topics and read and understand texts without too much effort.
