Who is this Italian course for?

Everyone can learn Italian! The courses are accessible for:

• Beginners: Start with the basics and build your vocabulary and grammar. You will learn your first Italian words, form simple sentences, introduce yourself and have conversations in everyday situations such as shopping or ordering something in a restaurant.
• Advanced: Refine your speaking skills and immerse yourself in authentic conversations. You will work on speaking more fluently and confidently, understand longer texts and gain insight into more complex grammatical structures.
• Language and culture lovers: Discover the charm of Italy and la dolce vita. In addition to language skills, you will learn about art, traditions, the rich history of Italy and Italian cuisine. Ideal if you often travel to Italy travels or has a passion for the Italian lifestyle.

The different levels of Italian at CVO Semper

At CVO Semper you learn Italian according to the European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Our courses are divided into four levels, from beginners to advanced:

Level 1 (A1 - A2): You’ll start with the basics, learning simple sentences and how to introduce yourself and handle everyday conversations.

Learn Italian: choose the formula that suits you

• Conversing in Italian: Practise everyday conversations, such as booking a room, doing the shopping, asking for directions or ordering in a restaurant. Thanks to role-playing and interactive exercises, you will learn to communicate fluently in real situations.
• Writing and reading Italian: Work with texts, stories and dialogues to improve your writing skills. You will learn to compose letters and emails and understand Italian articles and literature better.
• Listening and speaking skills: Through listening exercises, group discussions and tandem learning, you will improve your pronunciation and intelligibility. You will also gain insight into Italian accents and dialects.
• More than just a language: You will discover Italian art, culture and delicious cuisine. During the lessons, Italian films, music and traditions are discussed. You will also learn about Italian food culture and perhaps even taste an authentic espresso or freshly baked focaccia!

What does a lesson look like?

Each lesson combines explanations, exercises and practical assignments, so that you can learn the language in a natural and effective way. The lessons consist of different teaching methods:

• Interactive group discussions: You practise your speaking skills by having conversations about everyday and cultural topics.
• Listening exercises: You train your listening skills with authentic Italian spoken material, such as podcasts, news reports and conversations.
• Writing assignments: You learn how to write emails, short stories and descriptions, with the teacher guiding you with feedback.
• Role plays: Prepare for real-life situations like ordering in a restaurant, booking a hotel, or chatting with a local.
• Use of digital tools: Thanks to interactive learning platforms and apps, you can practise vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation.

You will receive a manual and digital support to practise at home. The teachers will guide you step by step and provide a stimulating and interactive learning environment in which you remain actively involved.
