Teaching languages in the digital era: the best apps, web platforms and ICT solutions for learning languages.

The first day was entirely dedicated to introductory activities. We had lunch together at a restaurant and were given a tour of the city. Bologna is a beautiful city with typical Italian architecture and porticoes everywhere. In the evening, we dined at a restaurant in the city center where we sampled Italian charcuterie and cheeses. Bologna is known for its mortadella, and it was truly delicious. The following days, we had classes from 8:00 am to 1:30 pm. In the afternoons, we were free to participate in additional activities or explore the city further. My group consisted of 11 language teachers. Most of them taught English. There were 3 Belgians, 3 Romanians, 2 Czechs, 1 Pole, 1 Lithuanian, and 1 Spaniard in the course. It was a fun, international group!

Under the guidance of Sara, our teacher, we learned to work with many different tools, websites, and apps. We first received some explanation and then started experimenting with the programs and our own materials. Afterward, we showed our results to the other participants.

It was fun to  Work on various themes, such as design (Canva and Weebly), online language games (Quizlet and Baamboozle), video clips (Ted-ed and Edpuzzle), and an online discussion platform (Kialo). Most of the sites were user-friendly, even if some require some practice. I'm very happy I participated in the course!
