You like to 'juggle' figures and are looking for a job with responsibility? As an Accounting Assistant you will perform both general administrative and accounting tasks (such as checking and accounting processing of sales and purchase invoices, follow-up of debtors, preparatory work for drawing up the balance sheet and income statement). You have regular telephone contacts with customers and suppliers. In addition, this position is a bottleneck job. That is, companies have difficulty finding suitable candidates for this position.

What will you learn?

The curriculum consists of several modules:

How long does the training take?

The model track (general subjects (AAV) + diploma-focused Accounting Administrative Assistant course takes 1 year. It can also be tailored to your needs.

Do I obtain a diploma or certificate?

The diploma-oriented course Bookkeeping Administrative Assistant leads to a certificate. The Additional General Training course also leads to a certificate.  If you have both certificates, you obtain the diploma of secondary education.

Is there guidance during the training?

In second-chance education, we provide customized guidance. We pay attention to learning difficulties and respect your pace.

There are regular evaluation meetings with the program supervisor, so that adjustments can be made where necessary. We also provide opportunities for remediation.

Entry requirements

Can I start this course?

Age

To enroll, you must be at least 18 years old. If you turn 18 before December 31, you can start in September.

Language level

Because all subjects are taught in Dutch, you must speak and write Dutch well. As a non-native speaker, you will need a certificate in Dutch, Threshold 4 (B1).

6. How long is the basic accounting course as part of the accounting assistant course?

The basic double-entry bookkeeping module takes 40 hours.

7. Is an accounting assistant internship included in the training?

Yes, the training includes a 120-hour internship to gain practical experience.
