For absolute beginners with no prior knowledge of English.

In this course you follow lessons at home at a fixed time via Zoom. This means you don't physically go to school. Your teacher will give you individual feedback.

What will you learn?

In English 1 you will take the first steps to become a basic user of English. Using text and images you will also learn more about the culture and mentality of English speaking countries. We practise all four skills: speaking, reading and writing as well as listening to spoken English.

By the end of the course you will be able to:

  • greet someone and introduce yourself
  • ask and answer questions about simple topics such as where you live, people you know and things you own
  • order something simple in a café or a restaurant (The full English breakfast please)
  • book a hotel room
  • talk about your daily routines and your preferences

You do not need any prior knowledge to enrol for this level. You start from scratch.

For this online course via Microsoft Teams you need a PC or laptop with a fast and stable internet connection, a sound card and webcam. Your computer skills must also be sufficient.
