You already speak quite well in English, but you feel there is room for improvement. You still have to think too much about structures and words and your first language keeps finding its way in sometimes. Listening to the radio or watching TV can still be a challenge - there's nothing to it but practice!

Course content

What will you learn?

In this course we use current events as the base of our speaking and listening exercises. We practice vocabulary and important grammatical structures in order to communicate fluently, not only in class but also while travelling or at work.

At the end of this course you will be able to:

apply basic grammar very fluently in conversations
follow TV debates and invite your classmates to discuss them
give a fluent presentation on a current topic
use more refined vocabulary to replace the words you already know
gain a good understanding of the culture of the language area and communicate about it

Entry requirements

To enrol for this level you must have a certificate of English 6 (= Engels Threshold 4).

If you aren't in possession of a certificate (or cannot find it any more), but already know English well, then you can take a short level test online, either at one of our secretariats or via our website. If your score is sufficient, you can enrol for this level.
