You speak decent English, but feel it could be more fluent. You already understand Shakespeare's language fairly well and are fluent in familiar situations, but 'crossing the bridge to proficiency' is not easy for you yet.
This English Effectiveness @combi course spread over 2 school years. The first school year you take part 1 or part 2 and the next school year the other part. The order is not important.
You will alternately work on your written skills at home, via our online learning platform (Effectiveness level 2) and on your oral skills in the classroom (Effectiveness level 1).
In this course we practise complex sentence structures and pay a lot of attention to enriching your vocabulary. We listen to topical audio or video clips and encourage you to be more independent in your English use. You will learn to use your vocabulary and grammar ever more correctly, including spelling, punctuation, layout, formality and the sociocultural aspects of your writing.
After this course you will be able to:
To enrol for this level you must have a certificate of English 7 A+B Speaking and LIstening (= Engels Vantage 1).
If you aren't in possession of a certificate (or cannot find it any more), but already know English well, then you can take a short level test online, either at one of our secretariats or via our website. If your score is sufficient, you can enrol for this level.
For the online part of this course you need a PC or laptop and a fast and stable internet connection, a sound card, and if possible, a webcam. You must also possess sufficient computer skills.
