You already have an average knowledge of French and you want to improve your communication at work.

What will you learn?

In the course Professional French Threshold (CEFR B1) you will receive exercises on topics such as

  • communicating in the workplace (telephone calls, e-mails, reports, evaluations, etc.)
  • meetings
  • giving presentations
  • sales talks and negotiating.

Specifically,

  • you will explore these topics through listening exercises, articles and texts, role-playing and writing assignments
  • you will enrich your vocabulary in relation to your sector
  • you will learn to discuss and argue about current topics 
  • you will learn to give presentations 

You have obtained at least the French 4 (= French Threshold 2) certificate, or you will achieve this level in this short level test. At the start of the module, the teacher will check whether you are at the correct level.  

If you have a certificate of French 6 (= French Threshold 4) or higher, we recommend that you follow Professional French Vantage (CEFR B2). 

Specific professional prior knowledge is not required. 

(for semester 2: you can start in ‘part 2’ without prior knowledge of ‘part 1’)

The price is composed of:

  • The legal enrolment fee: € 240
    (Subject to a decree amendment. Decree amendments take precedence over the centre regulations.)
  • Course supplies: € 43 (including course material and/or digital material and/or raw materials, ...)

Number of class times: 60 (including evaluation and deliberation)
