You are an absolute beginner and have no prior knowledge of French.

In this course, you follow the lessons at home at a fixed time via Teams. So you don't come to school. Your teacher will give you individual feedback.

In this French 1 course, you will learn how to act out in everyday situations, how French is pronounced and written. You learn to conjugate verbs in the present tense, you learn to locate yourself and other things. Little by little, you expand your vocabulary.

Thus, by the end of the course, you will be able to, among other things:

  • greet someone and introduce yourself
  • say you don't understand something or ask to speak more slowly
  • make an appointment and indicate the time
  • order something in a café or restaurant (un croissant au beurre s'il vous plaît) and, of course, ask for the bill
  • do your daily shopping at the bakery, butcher, market or supermarket
  • following directions and asking for directions yourself
  • compare your current place of residence with your hometown
  • give your opinion about e.g. a dish or balanced diet
  • describe some common health complaints to the pharmacist or doctor
  • describe your daily activities and ask about those of someone else
  • describe your home

To register for this level, you don't need any prior knowledge. You start from scratch.

For this online course via Zoom , you must have a PC or laptop with a fast and stable Internet connection, a sound card and webcam. You should also have minimal computer skills.
