You are an absolute beginner with no prior knowledge of Greek. In the Greek course 1 you will learn how to pronounce and write Greek, how to stand your ground in everyday situations and expand your vocabulary little by little. 

You follow the classes at home at a fixed time via Teams.

By the end of Greek 1 you will be able to take part in short conversations on simple and familiar topics if the other person speaks slowly and clearly. You will be able to use basic phrases and simple terms in the present tense, nominative, accusative, singular and plural.

By the end of the course you will be able to:

  • greet someone and introduce yourself
  • suggest an idea and make an appointment
  • order drinks and/or food (Γεια μας! - Ja mas!)
  • pay in a restaurant
  • talk about close family and friends

You do not need any prior knowledge to enrol for this level. You start from scratch.

For a course @home you must have access to a PC or laptop with a fast and stable internet connection, a sound card and a webcam. Your computer skills must also be sufficient.
