Do you want to care for children in your own home-based nursery but don’t yet have a valid qualification?
Or do you already hold a qualification but have little or no experience in home-based nursery care?
Then our modules Introduction to and Working in a Home-Based Nursery and Introduction to a Home-Based Nursery are just what you need!
Then this Introduction to and Working in a Home-Based Nursery module is the perfect place to start! You’ll not only earn the required certificate for childminders, but also discover what it means to work professionally in early years care. It’s an engaging and practical preparation for a rewarding and challenging career as a childminder.
Since 2014, it has been compulsory to complete this module before starting as a childminder. This way, you are well informed, well prepared, and ready to provide high-quality care for babies and toddlers.
Don’t yet have a qualification in Early Years Care for babies and toddlers?
Then you’ll take the Introduction to and Working in a Home-Based Nursery module (40 hours).
Already have a qualification but no experience in a home-based nursery?
Then you’ll take the Introduction to a Home-Based Nursery module (20 hours).
During the lessons, you’ll gain a clear understanding of the job role, expectations, and the skills required. You’ll also reflect on your own situation: how will I organise things in my home-based nursery?
We’ll cover topics such as:
You’ll also take time to reflect on your own resilience and create a personal development plan, helping you to identify your strengths and areas for growth.
You’ll start and finish the module with a Teams meeting with your teacher. The other topics are completed independently at home. Your teacher monitors your progress and is always available for questions.
Upon successful completion, you’ll receive a certificate. You can now start working as a childminder, but you’ll still need to obtain your qualification in Early Years Care for babies and toddlers.
