You are working on your PhD or have already obtained your PhD. You have a good basic knowledge of
Dutch, but you want to be able to express yourself more fluently and understand better what you read and hear.
With interactive speaking exercises, you will learn how to respond accurately in everyday situations, but also in more difficult conversations with colleagues, supervisors, at congresses and during conferences. A beautiful and correct pronunciation is essential.
Grammar, vocabulary, constructions, idioms are discussed in every lesson, both orally and in writing. They offer an ideal basis for using the language more confidently.
Themes include free time, social relationships, media, traditions.
You will have lessons once a week on the VUB campus and you will do related exercises on the Moodle learning platform.
You are following a PhD programme or you are a postdoc.
To enrol for this level, you must have at least a Dutch Waystage certificate. Ideally, you should also have a Threshold 1 certificate, but you can obtain this after completing this module (or you can take a test for it).
