Dutch Pronunciation @home (up to Threshold 2)

What will you learn?

In five short online lessons we will practise:  

• short/long vowels (e.g. a/aa, o/oo,...) 
• diphthongs (e.g. ui, eu, oe,...) 
• difficult consonants (e.g. g, sch, ng,...) 
• word and sentence stress 
• the natural vowel ə 

Initially, we practise aurally (e.g. can you hear the difference?), then productively (e.g. reading words/dialogues...). 

With these lessons you will increase your intelligibility in Dutch! 

This course is intended for students who are taking or have taken Dutch as a second language. This course is not for native speakers of Dutch.

To enrol for this level, you must have obtained at least a Dutch Breakthrough certificate.

For this online course, you need a PC or laptop with a fast and stable internet connection, a sound card and webcam. You must also have basic computer skills.
