You already have a basic knowledge of Dutch, but you are looking for work or work in a Dutch-speaking professional environment and you want to improve your communication there too.

What will you learn?

In the Business Dutch Threshold course (CEFR B1), you will gain valuable skills and knowledge to enhance your communication in various workplace situations. Through a range of engaging exercises, including listening, reading, writing and role-playing, you will develop your ability to communicate effectively in the following areas:

  • Communication in the workplace (telephone calls, emails, reports, evaluations and other common workplace scenarios)
  • meetings
  • presentations 
  • sales conversations and negotiations

Furthermore, this course offers a range of additional benefits, including the opportunity to:

  • Explore these topics using listening exercises, articles and other texts, role plays and written tasks.  
  • Enrich your vocabulary related to your sector and industry.
  • Develop your ability to discuss current topics.

To enrol in the module, you should have either achieved a certificate in Dutch Threshold 2 or demonstrate an equivalent level through a short level test. During the initial stages of the course, your teacher will assess your proficiency level to ensure that you are appropriately placed.

If you have already attained a certificate in DutchThreshold 4 or above, we recommend that you consider enrolling in the Business Dutch Vantage course (CEFR B2) instead.

Prior professional knowledge is not mandatory for enrolment in the course, as it is designed to cater to learners from various fields and industries.

For this online course via Microsoft Teams or Zoom you need a PC or laptop and a fast and stable internet connection, a sound card and a webcam. You should also have some basic computer skills.

  • The legal enrolment fee: € 72
    (Subject to a decree amendment. Decree amendments take precedence over the centre regulations.)
