Childcare worker for babies and toddlers

What will you learn?

The training consists of a wide range of modules that deal with babies and toddlers in all its aspects: care, nutrition and pedagogy of babies and toddlers, basic principles of life-saving action, communication with young children and their families… Also working in a childcare is discussed and you learn how to work together in a team. 

During the training as a childcare worker for babies and toddlers, you will follow a number of basic modules, such as pedagogy, communication, first aid and care and a number of specific modules for babies and toddlers. During the program, you will immediately apply your knowledge in practice. Our internships and workplace learning provide valuable experience in a variety of settings.

In addition, our mentoring program offers personalized guidance from experienced professionals, providing ongoing feedback and support.

With this practical experience and professional connections, you'll be fully prepared for a successful career as a childcare worker.

How long does the program last?

The standard program lasts 1 year in daytime classes.

Can I get exemptions for this course?

It is quite possible that you do not have to take all modules, because you have already obtained a certificate or diploma! During the intake we check which exemptions you are entitled to.

How much does the training cost?

You pay max. € 1 per lesson hour with a limit of € 200 per semester. Reduction of registration fee is possible. In addition, you pay You pay an operating fee per module.

This training is free for those who have a VDAB contract.

• Age: To register you must be at least 18 years old. If you turn 18 before 31 December, you can start in September.
• Language level: Because all subjects are taught in Dutch, you must be proficient in both spoken and written Dutch. As a non-native speaker, you should have obtained a certificate in Dutch, Threshold 4 (B1)
• ICT (taught in Dutch only): You possess basic ICT skills, and it is helpful if you have access to a computer and an internet connection at home. Please do not hesitate to contact us if this is not the case
• Workplace learning/internship: To be admitted to a workplace you are medically fit and up to date with the hepatitis A and B vaccinations.

Am I entitled to a discount or a premium?

Diploma-oriented training Child care assistant babies and toddlers leads to a certificate. If you follow the Supplementary General Education course, you will also receive a certificate for this. With both certificates you obtain the diploma of secondary education.

Do you already have a secondary education diploma? Then you will receive after the diploma-oriented training Child care assistant babies and toddlers an additional degree.
