Learning objectives

After this workshop, participants will be able to:

distinguish between different ways of classifying cultures
explain the influence of culture on individuals and their thinking, experiences and communication
discuss the causes of intercultural conflicts
intervene appropriately in intercultural conflicts
use language that connects people
reframe messages in terms of content and context
listen assertively
communicate non-violently definition of terms
strategies: role play 
Establishing and maintaining contacts, even in difficult situations (including with people with different views and backgrounds)
Empathising with someone's situation, showing understanding and dealing with it tactfully.

Trainer

Heidi De Prins

English-German translator with teaching experience in communication skills, intercultural mediation, cross-cultural communication, NT2, Dutch, English and German, and extensive collaboration with students and colleagues with non-Belgian roots.
