Are you a hands-on person and would you like to do your own electrical installation at home? Or maybe you want to work in the electrical sector? That's an excellent plan, because well-trained electricians are in high demand!

Of course, everything starts with proper training, and you will find that at CVO Semper. In the Electrical Installation course, you will learn to design and install electrical installations. This for both residential and simple tertiary installations.

You can combine this course with the general subjects (AAV) to get your secondary school diploma in 1.5 years.

If you want to follow the Electrical Installer training, you always start with an information session. There you will receive all the information, we will map out your route and you can register immediately.

Course content

What will you learn?

In the Electrical Installation course, you will learn to design and install electrical installations, both residential and tertiary. You will learn to work independently and follow the best quality standards. Of course, the emphasis is on practical exercises, with extra attention to safety regulations. Teachers with a lot of practical experience are ready to guide you during the lessons.

  • Installing pipes and/or cables for the various circuits
  • Positioning and connecting the earthing system
  • Installing and connecting low voltage equipment
  • Positioning, mounting and connecting distribution boards, power boards and/or control boards
  • Installing and connecting lighting circuits
  • Starting up and checking your own residential and classic tertiary electrical installation
  • Realising a simple, classic residential scheme, etc.

The course is combined with workplace learning, so you will get a lot of practical experience.

The course consists of the following modules:

How long does the training take?

  • You will receive training tailored to your needs
  • On average, this course takes 16 weeks
  • Start of the course: in September and in February 

 

Do I obtain a diploma or a certificate?

The diploma-oriented Electrical Installation course leads to a certificate. If you do the Additional General Education, you will also get a certificate for this. Both certificates lead to a diploma of secondary education.

Is there any guidance during training?

We provide tailored guidance. We are attentive to learning difficulties and respect your pace. We provide opportunities for remediation.

You can discuss your learning path with the programme counsellor at any time, so that adjustments can be made where necessary.

Entry requirements

Can I start this course?

Age

To enrol, you must be at least 18 years old. If you turn 18 before 31 December, you can start in September.

Language level

Because all subjects are taught in Dutch, you must speak and write Dutch well. As a non-native speaker, you must have a certificate of Dutch Threshold 4 (B1).

ICT

You must have basic ICT skills and it is helpful if you have a computer and an internet connection at home. Be sure to speak to us if you don't.

 

Can I get exemptions for this course?

You may not need to take all modules, because you already have a certificate or diploma! At the intake, we will check which exemptions you are entitled to.

 

How much does the course cost?

You pay a maximum of € 1.50 per class hour with a limit of € 300 per semester. Reduction of your enrolment fee is possible. In addition, you pay a contribution per module for course materials (copies, syllabi and/or textbook, possibly activities).

 

How can I enrol?

  1. Contact diplomasecundair@cvosemper.be
  2. Make an appointment for an intake interview. Together with the programme counsellor, you will outline your personal learning path. Possible exemptions can also be discussed here.
  3. After this intake, you can immediately enrol for the course!
