You already write French fairly well but you still feel you can do better. You still have to think too much about certain structures and not so common words. General newspaper articles can be read quite well but more specialized articles and novels still sometimes put you off, so practice is the message!

Course content

What you will learn?

In this course you will learn to communicate fluently and confidently in a personal context. You will learn to write a wide range of texts, including formal and informal e-mails, reports and opinion pieces. You will also read and discuss all kinds of texts on a variety of contemporary topics.

At the end of this course, you will be able to:

apply basic grammar very fluently in written assignments
Construct a text logically by using the correct linking words and reference words
read complex articles (justice, insurance, architecture, education, language, culture...) and express your opinion in an opinion piece
write a report of an oral presentation
use more sophisticated vocabulary to replace the words you already know.

Evaluation is staggered throughout the module.

Entry requirements

To register for this level, you must have a certificate of French 6 (= French Threshold 4).

Do you have this but can't find it anywhere, or do you already know decent French? Then you can take a short level test at the school secretariat or on our website. If you score satisfactorily on this, you can register for this level.
